The Fiat 1100 TV Trasformabile presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 1955 is a two-door convertible based on the technical basis of the Fiat 1100-103 TV published two years earlier .

The car was developed by Fabio Luigi Rapi for Fiat's internal bodywork factory, Fiat Carrozzerie Speciali , and was later built by this factory. In contrast to the normal 1100, the very playful design was heavily inspired by American models of the time, right down to a light tail fin. One of the most noticeable features were flasher satellites hovering over the front fenders. The four-cylinder in-line engine with 1089 cm³, derived directly from the Fiat 1100, had an output of 37 kW (50 hp).

The model was revised as early as 1956, the model name was now supplemented by an "E". As in the sedan, the engine now developed 39 kW (53 hp). In addition, the overly sensitive indicators have now been installed directly on the fender.

Another year later, the 1100 Trasformabile was replaced by the Fiat 1200 Trasformabile , which was still based on the body that had only been slightly modified. The number of pieces of the 1100 TV remained limited mainly because of the price; even the big Fiat 1900 was cheaper.
