The Fiat 24-32 HP 1903 was Fiat's first model in the luxury class .

In addition, the higher-positioned Fiat 60 HP , which was produced from 1904, was based on the Fiat 24-32 HP. By the end of 1905, the Corso Dante plant in Turin had produced more than 400 units in three different series. To make the work of bodybuilders easier, the vehicle was offered with three wheelbases: short, medium and long. The body styles available were Phaeton and Torpedo . In addition, there was a landaulet version for the first time in automotive history . Operation with the accelerator pedal on the vehicle floor, a clutch and a manual transmission with four forward and reverse gears were also new . The car had a four-cylinder gasoline engine with 6371 cc and 32 hp and rear-wheel drive with chains. In the second series from 1904 this engine was enlarged to 6902 cm³ for lower consumption with the same output. The Series 3 from 1905 had a further enlarged to 7363 cm³ engine to reduce fuel consumption and improve torque. In 1906 the series was replaced by the Fiat 24-40 HP .

Fiat 24 HP Corsa

In contrast to its predecessors 6 and 12 HP Corsa, the Fiat 24 HP Corsa was a model specially developed for racing. The chassis was made of steel instead of wood and the special structure brought a weight reduction to 450 kg. With the 7238 cc engine, increased to 40 hp, the high speed of 100 km / h for the time was reached. Vincenzo Lancia as the driver dominated all races with the vehicle for a long time and Fiat gained considerable fame and reputation. He wins with the 24 HP Corsa in 1902 at the hill climb Colle Torinesi Sassi to Superga over 4.5 kilometers and Susa-Moncenisio (22,6 km).
