Quíbor is a city in the state of Lara , Venezuela . It is the capital of the district ( Municipio ) Jiménez.
The region was already densely populated when the Europeans arrived. The Welsers visited Quíbor on several of their expeditions in the early 16th century. Nowadays the city is mainly a center for the region's agriculture.
