Quehenberger logistics is a medium-sized logistics company with headquarters in Straßwalchen , Salzburg. Quehenberger specializes in transport management , network and contract logistics .

history

In 1948 the Lausenhammer forwarding company was founded in Seekirchen am Wallersee . The later owner and namesake Rudolf Quehenberger joined Lausenhammer in 1965 and gradually got more involved in the business. After the departure of Mario Lausenhammer, the last member of the founding family, the company was renamed "R. Quehenberger Spedition" in 1983.

With the fall of the Iron Curtain in 1989, Quehenberger dared to take the first steps eastwards. This resulted in a subsidiary in Hungary in 1992 . Belarus , Ukraine , Slovakia and Romania followed.

The conversion into a stock corporation was followed in 2001 by a takeover by the Luxembourg company group Thiel Logistik , which initially invested 51 percent and later secured the remaining shares. In 2008, the company was finally fully integrated into the parent company and renamed Logwin.

In 2010 AUGUSTIN Network GmbH bought back the market rights for Eastern Europe from Logwin AG under the former Quehenberger employee Christian Fürstaller . On April 1, 2010 the name Quehenberger Logistics was reintroduced as a brand name. Rudolf Quehenberger has a stake of around 10% in this company.

At the end of 2012, the group acquired the express and courier service provider X1 EXPRESS. At the beginning of 2014, Quehenberger took over five national companies in Eastern Europe from Logwin (Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia and Macedonia). In 2014, the German Transalkim Internationale Spedition GmbH and Günter Bauer Transportgesellschaft were taken over. In 2015, the name was changed from X1 EXPRESS GmbH to Quehenberger Express GmbH. Also in 2015, Quehenberger returned to the Air + Ocean business area and founded the company Quehenberger Air + Ocean GmbH. In 2017, eight new logistics locations were opened and the warehouse space mark of 300,000 m² was exceeded. In 2018, Alpin Spedition GmbH was taken over, the presence in Eastern Europe was expanded to include the Polish and Kazakhstan markets and a location was also established in Sweden. In 2018, Quehenberger Logistics exceeded the warehouse space mark of 400,000 m².
