Across the country ticket

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Quer-durch-Land-Ticket (QdL-Ticket) is a ticket introduced in 2009 - special offer from DB Regio AG . It enables nationwide journeys on regional trains on any day of the week.

development

In 1995, Deutsche Bahn created a special offer exclusively for local trains for the first time with the Schöne-Wochen-Ticket (SWT). It could be used nationwide, but was only valid on weekends. A few years later, the somewhat cheaper regional tickets were introduced, but they are only issued for one or more neighboring federal states. The QdL ticket closed the gap between the SWT valid nationwide, but only on weekends, and the regionally limited country tickets, which are also valid during the week. However, the QdL ticket is only recognized in local trains, while the SWT and the regional tickets were or are also valid in many public transport. The QdL ticket was initially available during a pilot phase from August 1, 2009 to January 31, 2010. Since December 13, 2010, Deutsche Bahn has been offering it again with changed conditions.
