Quest for a Heart is a Finnish-German-Russian-British cartoon from 2007. Directed by Pekka Letosaari . Rolli is the hero of numerous Finnish cartoons and real films as well as records and audio drama cassettes. Quest for a Heart , his most recent appearance, won the Children's Jury Award for Animated Films at the 2008 Chicago International Children's Film Festival.

The main character is the children's book character Rolli (Finnish: Rölli ), invented by Allu Tuppurainen in 1985 and popular in Finland . Rolli is a member of a tribe of the same name of anarchist forest trolls who love dirt, violence and quarrels. In order to stop their world from becoming petrified, the Rollies and the pretty elf Millie have to find the “magic heart of understanding”. In their search for the heart, the unequal partners encounter numerous dangers that they can only master together.

Production and publication

The film was made in 2007 under the direction of Pekka Lehtosaari in the Studios Film and Music Entertainment, Greenlight Media AG, Kontakt Production Center and Matila Röhr Productions. Tuomas Kantelinen composed the music and Aleksi Raij was responsible for the editing.

The film premiered on December 14, 2007 in Finland. It was released in Russian cinemas on December 27, 2007 and in German cinemas on February 8, 2008.
