The Quilty Cone is a volcanic cone on the island of Heard in the archipelago of the Heard and McDonald Islands in the southern Indian Ocean . It is an offshoot of the Macey Cone on the Laurens Peninsula .
It is named after the Australian geologist Patrick Quilty (1939–2018), chief scientist of the Australian Antarctic Division for more than 18 years.
