Régis Rothenbühler (born October 11, 1970 ) is a former Swiss football player and today's coach .

Career as a player

Régis Rothenbühler spent his junior years at the clubs FC Porrentruy and Neuchâtel Xamax .

In the 1988/89 season he made his debut at Neuchatel Xamax in the former National League A . Régis Rothenbühler played between 1988 and 1999 with a six-month detour in 1993 to Servette FC Genève for a total of ten and a half years for Neuchâtel Xamax.

From December 1999 he played for Yverdon-Sport FC, FC Lugano, FC Luzern, FC Chiasso, FC Malcantone Agno, GC Biaschesi and FC Friborg, where he ended his career in 2007.

National team

Rothenbühler made 19 international matches for the Swiss national team between 1992 and 2000 and took part in the 1996 European Championship .

Career as a coach

After retiring as a football player, he was assistant coach at FC Lugano in the 2008/09 season. He has been in possession of the Uefa-A diploma since 2008.

Since July 2015 he has been assistant coach of the U-15 national team in Switzerland.
