Rémy Belvaux

Rémy Belvaux (born November 10, 1966 in Namur , Belgium , † September 4, 2006 in Orry-la-Ville , France ) was a Belgian actor , film director and screenwriter .

Rémy Belvaux began his career making commercials for Quad Productions . He was considered to be one of the most active and creative directors there, realizing an impressive number of commercials in a total of ten years. In 1992 he made the feature film Man Bites Dog together with André Bonzel . On February 4, 1998, he carried out a cake assassination attempt on Bill Gates alongside Noël Godin . As early as 2004, together with Bruno Aveillan by Philippe André and Frédéric Planchon , he was considered one of the best directors in the French-speaking advertising industry. In 2005 he received several awards at the Festival de la Publicité de Méribel and in the same year the Lion d'Argent at the Festival international de la Publicité de Cannes .

Rémy Belvaux committed suicide on September 4, 2006 at the age of 39.
