The Réserve de Africaine de Sigean is an approx. 300 hectare zoo-like area in the south of France ( Occitania region ).

Located in the regions of the Etangs (coastal lakes) near Sigean (15 km south of Narbonne ), the park is easily accessible. The animals in this park are given a natural, "wild" life thanks to the spacious open spaces.

The extensive area has savannahs and scrubland at different elevations as well as several water and swamp areas, completely embedded in the middle of the Mediterranean landscape of southern France.

The Réserve de Africaine de Sigean participates in international research and species conservation projects with a focus on Africa.

A special visitor magnet is the opportunity to explore the overall savannah-like landscape on marked paths with your own car and encounter animal species such as zebras, buffalo, rhinos or ostriches in a way that is only possible in a comparable way in African national parks .

The particularly "dangerous" attraction is a visit at close range in the demarcated areas of the lion and bear enclosure ; the lions move here completely freely on the single-lane car lane that was laid out for visitors.
