Sigean ( Occitan : Sijan ) is a French commune with 5477 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in France . It is located in the Aude department in the Occitanie region . Sigean is located in the landscape called Corbières maritimes on the shores of the lagoon lake Étang de Bages et de Sigean .

The inhabitants of the municipality are called Sigeanais .
