Félines-Termenès is a French commune with 117 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aude department in the Occitanie region . It belongs to the Arrondissement Narbonne and the communal association Communauté de communes Région Lézignanaise, Corbières et Minervois .

The municipality of Félines-Termenès is located about 40 kilometers southwest of Narbonne and 40 kilometers southeast of Carcassonne .
The municipality covers a section of the Libretal in the middle of the Corbières mountain range. The village is located at the mouth of the Saint-Jean in the small river Libre , which flows eight kilometers below Félines-Termenès into the Orbieu . The hilly area is characterized by open Mediterranean shrub heaths ( garigue ) and by embedded viticulture. The highest point in the municipality's territory is the La Matte plateau at 621 m above sea level in the extreme southeast.
Félines-Termenès borders in the north on Villerouge-Termenès , in the south-east on Palairac , in the south on Davejean , in the south-west on Laroque-de-Fa and in the north-west on Termes .
history
The establishment of the village of Félines is dated to the 10th century. It is documented that Olivier de Termes was one of the lords of Félines in 1262 . The Templars of Peyrens (near Castelnaudary ) or their successors, the Johannites of the Commandery Homps, have been handed down to Félines in 1285 .
Before the French Revolution, the place was the seat of a royal court and the main town of the Viguerie Termenès .
In the hamlet of Récompech, southeast of the core town, and in the Serre de la Matte , there were smaller iron mines until 1804. In the 19th century there were three grain mills and a marble quarry in the village.
From 1908 to 1932 Félines-Termenès was connected to the railway network ( Compagnie des Tramways à Vapeur de l'Aude ).

Economy and Infrastructure
In addition to small craft and service businesses, viticulture is the main line of business in the village. The vines in the municipality are within the protected designation of origin Corbières . In addition to seven winegrowers, there are three other farms in the community (including horse breeding).
Transport links
The road from Narbonne to Quillan (D 613) runs through the municipality . Another road connects Félines-Termenès with Tuchan .
