Port-la-Nouvelle is a French commune with 5567 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aude department in the Occitanie region . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Narbonne and the canton of Les Corbières Maritimes .

Port-la-Nouvelle is both a seaside resort with 13 kilometers of sandy beach and a transshipment port primarily for petroleum products and grain . The port benefits above all from its proximity to the motorway to and from Toulouse, but contributes 10 to the 24 environmental risk zones of the Aude department.
