La Palme is a French commune with 1693 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aude department in the Occitanie region . La Palme is part of the Le Grand Narbonne municipality and is located in the Corbières maritimes landscape , on the Étang de Lapalme , where a salt works , the Salin de Lapalme , is also operated.
The inhabitants of the municipality are called Palmistes .
Part of the agricultural land is used for viticulture and the vineyards are within the protected designations of origin Corbières , Fitou and Muscat de Rivesaltes . In addition, the wines may be marketed under the name of the country wines Vin de Pays des Coteaux du Littoral Audois and Vin de Pays d'Oc .
The municipality is located in the Regional Nature Park Narbonnaise en Méditerranée .
