Caves ( Occitan : Las Cavas) is a French commune with 875 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aude department in the Occitanie region . Caves is part of the Le Grand Narbonne municipality and is located in the Corbières maritimes landscape .

The inhabitants of the commune are called Cavois .

Part of the agricultural land is used for viticulture and the vineyards are within the protected designations of origin Corbières , Fitou , Rivesaltes and Muscat de Rivesaltes . In addition, the wines may be marketed under the name of the country wines Vin de Pays des Coteaux du Littoral Audois and Vin de Pays d'Oc .

The municipality is located in the Regional Nature Park Narbonnaise en Méditerranée .
