Saint-Nazaire-d'Aude ( Occitan : Sant Miquèl ) is a place and a municipality with 2,032 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the south of France in the Aude department in the Occitanie region .

location

The place Saint-Nazaire-d'Aude is about 1.5 km north of the river Aude and about 14 km (driving distance) northwest of Narbonne at an altitude of about 22 m above sea level. d. M. in the historical cultural landscape of the Minervois .

The population decline in the first half of the 20th century is mainly due to the phylloxera crisis in viticulture and the mechanization of agriculture . The proximity to the city of Narbonne then led to a significant increase in the number of inhabitants.
