The Réttarfoss is the penultimate waterfall of the Jökulsá á Fjöllum and is located in northeast Iceland .
The Jökulsá á Fjöllum falls here by 12 meters. Upstream are the Hafragils , the Detti and the Selfoss . Below is the Vígabjargsfoss before the Jökulsá á Fjöllum flows into the Öxarfjörður .
Réttarfoss can be reached from the west via Dettifossvegur (road 862) and further over Tungnavegur (road 887).
The Icelandic word for pen is rétt. There are other waterfalls with this name in Iceland.
