The Río Cahuinarí is a river in southeastern Colombia and the main right tributary of the Río Caquetá ( called Rio Japurá in Brazil ). The Río Cahuinarí has its source in the department of Amazonas , flows first to the southeast and finally to the northeast before it flows into the Río Caquetá.
On almost its entire winding course, the Río Cahuinarí forms the natural border between the corregimientos La Chorrera and Puerto Santander . In its lower reaches it crosses the Colombian national park Cahuinarí .
Like all tributaries of the Río Caquetá / Rio Japurá, the Río Cahuinarí is very water-rich.
