The Río Choapa is a river in Chile . It is located in Región IV of Chile, about 200 km north of Santiago de Chile . It has a length of 160 km.

It is created by the confluence of the Río Cuncumén and Río Totoral rivers . It is also fed by the Río Illapel and Río Chalinga . It flows into the Pacific Ocean near the city of Huentelauquén . The main town in its vicinity is Illapel . The river is an important source of drinking water for Region IV.
