The Równina Ornecka (from the city of Orneta , German Wormditt ) is a mesoregion in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship in Poland . It is about 225 km². The area shaped by the Ice Age is sander .

location

The Równina Ornecka is part of the Nizina Staropruska . In the north it borders on the Stablack , in the east on the Nizina Sępopolska (Schippenbeiler Tiefland), in the south on the Allenstein Lake District and in the west on the Równina Warmińska .

Rivers

The Równina Ornecka drains into the Fresh Lagoon . An important river is the Drwęca Warmińska (Drewenz), a right tributary of the Pasłęka (Passarge).

colonization

The Równina Ornecka is relatively densely populated. The most important small town is Orneta (Wormditt) , which gives it its name .

The land is largely overgrown with dense spruce forest.
