Rödles

Rödles a place in Besengau and a district of Bastheim in the Lower Franconian district of Rhön-Grabfeld .

history

The forest village of Rödles is first mentioned in a deed of donation in 1143. The old names were Timprechtsrode and Rotiges .

After the Second World War, the village repeatedly took part in the state competition “Our village should be more beautiful” and in 1963 was named “Flower Village”.

On January 1, 1972, the previously independent place was incorporated into the municipality of Bastheim.

Culture

The Catholic Church of St. Udalricus was built in 1869; the tower is from the previous church from the beginning of the 17th century.

The cultural center of the place is the renovated village community center, which was built at the time of the independence of the village. Another meeting place from a private initiative is the LandStadt Haus , which serves for cultural dialogue.
