Simonshof is a place in Besengau and a district of Bastheim in the Lower Franconian district of Rhön-Grabfeld .

history

The origin of the workers' farm is a farm estate built by the Wechterswinkel monastery on the site of the moated castle "castrum symonides". The castle, which has been in the possession of the Lords of Bastheim since 1185, was destroyed in 1354 by the Würzburg bishop Albert von Hohenlohe.
