from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Reyersbach is a place in Besengau and a district of Bastheim in the Lower Franconian district of Rhön-Grabfeld .

history

Reyersbach was first mentioned on May 9, 1258. First landlords were the lords of Bastheim, later the Wechterswinkel monastery. In the 16th century 42 families lived here in 27 houses and only a small part of the population was Catholic due to the Reformation. At the beginning of the 17th century, Prince-Bishop Julius Echter built a new church in the course of the Counter-Reformation. In 1797 a fire broke out in the lower village, which left half of the village and the church in ruins. In the following years the village and the church with its steeple were rebuilt. A volunteer fire brigade was founded in the village as early as 1876. In the middle of the 19th century, a large clearing operation created roughly the appearance of today's hallway. Before and after the First World War, the fruit tree association, the fraternity association and the gymnastics association were founded. On January 1, 1972, the previously independent place was incorporated into the municipality of Bastheim. A new sports field was built on the old site in 1979 and ten years later a new sports center. The village renewal began in 1991 and gave the village its present-day appearance. In 2008 Reyersbach celebrated its 750th anniversary with a large village festival. In 2011 the new village community center with the name Mauritian House was inaugurated. At the 2013 competitionOur village has a future - our village should become more beautiful , Reyersbach was able to become district winner and win a silver medal in the district decision the following year in Lower Franconia.
