history

A first church in the village is said to have been consecrated as early as 1015. In 1615 another church was built, which fell victim to a village fire in 1797. Large parts of the place were destroyed. In 1799 the construction of today's St. Mauritius Church was completed. The vase-shaped defense tower is designed in the Romanesque style. The classicistic high altar with four columns was built at the end of the 18th century. The two side altars in the Baroque style come from Bildhausen. The carving of the church was done by Johann Joseph Keßler.
