Lists on the subject

The Röhm RG 69 N is a blank firing revolver in caliber 9 mm R Knall, which was manufactured and sold by Röhm GmbH , now Umarex . In the meantime (as of 2016) this revolver is no longer manufactured.

The revolver can be used to fire irritant (CS or pepper) and popping cartridges, as well as pyrotechnic ammunition with the added barrel.

The design of the revolver is based on Smith & Wesson models (K-Frame) - but the RG69 is the alarm version of the sharp RG 39 from the 1960s in .32 S&W long and in .38 special, especially from Röhm USA was manufactured and offered.

The RG 69 (PTB 275) has been sold in Germany since at least the early 1980s.

The 69 N is available in different versions: burnished, nickel-plated, with wooden or plastic grips. It consists of zinc die-cast (frame, hammer and trigger blade) and steel (drum, push-back and lock parts).

He is - as all signal, irritant- and alarm guns with PTB - Approval (PTB 594) - for persons aged 18 years freely available. A small gun license is required to drive outside of your own property .

The revolver has a safety device (transfer bar), which only releases the connection between hammer and firing pin when the trigger is actuated. This means that safe guidance is possible even with a loaded drum. The weapon has a cocked trigger , but can also be fired with a cocked cock ( SA / DA trigger ).

The Röhm RG 89, as well as the copies GSG / Ekol Viper and the Zoraki R1 made in Turkey, which are available in various designs and calibers depending on the market, are largely identical in construction except for material differences.

Differences to the sharp revolver

The Röhm RG 69N differs from sharp revolvers in the following points:

  • Drum bores sub-caliber 6 mm.
  • Drum bores offset to the barrel
  • The main component of alarm guns is cast zinc; most sharp weapons are made of steel
  • Machine run blockage, predetermined breaking point and firmly pinned barrel to prevent illegal modifications.
