Uwe Mönkemeyer
Uwe Mönkemeyer (born September 22, 1959 in Holzminden ) is a former German medium and long-distance runner .
International success
Over 3000 m , Uwe Mönkemeyer came third at the European Indoor Championships in Budapest in 1983 (won the bronze medal) and fourth in Gothenburg in 1984 .
Over 5000 meters he reached the semifinals at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles .
In 1986 Uwe Mönkemeyer was fourth over 1500 meters at the European Indoor Championships in Madrid and eleventh over 5000 meters at the European Championships in Stuttgart . In 1986 he also won the Paderborn Easter run over 10 km.
At the World Indoor Championships in Indianapolis in 1987 , he was tenth over 3000 meters.
German champions
Uwe Mönkemeyer was twice German champion over 1500 meters - 1986, 1987 - and four times in cross-country running on the middle distance - 1982–1984, 1988. In the hall he won the national title over 3000 meters in 1983 and in 1986 over 1500 meters.
