The Röhrig University Verlag GmbH is an established in 1984 book publisher based in St. Ingbert . The publisher's motto is: "We publish science".

history

The publishing house was originally founded in 1984 as Röhrig Verlag by Werner J. Röhrig. Röhrig Verlag was given the addition of "Universitätsverlag" in 1994, and since January 1, 2000 the company has been officially called Röhrig Universitätsverlag GmbH. In October 2011, Andreas Schorr took over the operational management from the founder.

program

The publisher publishes academic books, political-historical literature and regional literature. Above all, numerous literary book series and others with a focus on linguistics , art history , philosophy , pedagogy , gender research and history are published . There is close cooperation with Saarland University , in particular with its social sciences and humanities departments. Furthermore, the writings of the Saarland University and State Library , books on the history of medicine , the Annales Universitatis Saraviensis. Philosophical faculties and numerous commemorative publications published . The book series “History, Politics & Society. Series of publications of the Saarland Democracy Foundation ”and the“ Bucherturm Collection ”published. Literary works from the German-French-Luxembourg tri-border region are being reprinted under “Book Tower”.

According to the company's own presentation, around 20 new publications are produced annually in more than 25 book series and yearbooks. The publisher's program currently (2015) comprises around 480 available titles.
