The Roman road from Londinium ( London ) to Aquae Sulis ( Bath )

The Roman road from Silchester to Bath connected Calleva Atrebatum near Silchester with Aquae Sulis ( Bath ) via Spinae (now Speen ) and Cunetio . It was the continuation of the Devil's Highway , which connected Londinium ( London ) with Calleva Atrebatum.

Parts of the road can still be seen today, while in other parts it is completely invisible. The road was an important east-west route for travelers and the military in south east England from the 1st century AD to the 5th century. The road was also used in the Middle Ages .
