The Rönnenkamp-Stift in Flensburg - Fruerlund is a building on the east bank of the Flensburg harbor . It is one of the city's cultural monuments .

background

In 1856 the merchant Rönnenkamp from Copenhagen donated the so-called Rönnenkamp-Stift as a seaman's home . Heinrich Carstensen Jensen from Flensburg was apparently also involved in establishing the foundation at the time . The architect of the brick monastery building that was erected, with a muddy facade and a half-hipped roof, is unknown. The foundation inscription in Danish is still located below the central projection . The Rönnenkamp-Stift, located on a hill behind the street, was given the address Ballastbrücke 20. In 1971772 the Rönnenkamp-Stift was expanded as a home for people with disabilities at the Holländerhof. As is typical for Flensburg monastery buildings, there is still a central corridor inside the building that opens up the rooms on the two longitudinal fronts.
