The Seewiese retention basin is a small artificial still water in Darmstadt-Arheilgen .
etymology
The retention basin Seewiese was named after the winner "The Seewiese".
geography
The retention basin Seewiese is the "Ruthsenbachaue" in Won "The Seewiese", on the eastern edge of Darmstadt-Arheilgen. The pool is about 160 meters long and about 80 meters wide. The flood retention basin is fed and drained by the Ruthsenbach .
description
On the western edge of the basin is a culvert structure of reinforced concrete . A dike on the north and west edge limits the retention basin. The "Jakob-Jung-Straße" leads over the dike on the western edge. The "Mühlgraben" runs along the southern edge. There is a sports area immediately south of the small lake. The area is accessed by several hiking trails.

Various bird species live at the Seewiese retention basin; including ducks , kites and wild geese . Numerous native fish species animate the basin.

There is a small mixed forest and meadows on the area . The north and east banks are wetlands .
