Rüdiger Funiok

Rüdiger Funiok (born March 26, 1942 in Karwin , Teschen district ) is a German communication scientist, media ethicist and media educator.

Life

Rüdiger Funiok entered the Jesuit order in 1962 . From 1964 to 1967 he studied philosophy in Munich . He then completed a two-year teaching internship and studied pedagogy in Nuremberg, then theology in Frankfurt am Main. In 1980 he received his doctorate in education from the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . Since 1981 Rüdiger Funiok has worked as a lecturer at the Munich University of Philosophy . From 1984 he worked as a lecturer at the School of Philosophy. In 1987 he was appointed head of the Institute for Communication and Media (IKM), later the Institute for Communication Science and Adult Education (IKE) at the university.

In 1992 he completed his habilitation thesis on didactic central ideas for computer education. Since 1992 he has been professor of education and communication science. In March 2010 he retired.

Rüdiger Funiok has published more than 50 works, including 40 articles and several standard works as author or editor. His work focuses - from a responsible ethics perspective on media - the ethics of journalists and PR managers, public ethics and consumer freedom.
