Rüdiger Hermann Wiechers

Rüdiger Wiechers (born November 14, 1943 in Münster ) is a retired German bank manager from Massenheim .

Life

Rüdiger Wiechers completed a business studies degree at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster and earned a degree in business administration. He began his career in the savings bank sector as assistant to the board of directors of Westdeutsche Landesbank in Münster. After positions as marketing director at the Landesbausparkasse, he came to Frankfurt am Main in 1983 as head of LBS Hessen . In 1989 Wiechers was appointed to the Dresdner Bank AG group as a founding member of the Board of Directors of Dresdner Bauspar AG . After he initiated the relocation of the headquarters of Dresdner Bauspar AG from Frankfurt to Bad Vilbel in 1998, the fifth largest private home savings company, Allianz Dresdner Bauspar AG, emerged with the takeover of Allianz Bauspar AG from Munich by Dresdner Bauspar AG his scheduled retirement in 2004.

Wiechers is married to a freelance artist and has a daughter who has also been married in the meantime.

Volunteering

  • Wiechers has been an honorary representative of the city council of Bad Vilbel for urban development and economic development since 2004.
  • On the board of the German Society for Combating Cystic Fibrosis Bonn, he helped to set up a network to publicize this disease and to provide active social support for the families of the patients.
  • Wiechers has been a member of the board of the German Association for Housing, Urban Development and Spatial Planning since 1995 . V. There he headed the commission "Chances of the demographic development ahead for housing and urban policy" in 2007.
  • Wiechers took part several times in the Bad Vilbel talks of Allianz Dresdner Bauspar AG, which took place together with the Hessian Architects' Day in Bad Vilbel until 2010.
  • He is also involved in urban design in Bad Vilbel.
  • In 2005 he was honored with the award of the Federal Cross of Merit, 1st class.
  • In 2006 Wiechers founded the Wiechers Foundation Cities for People .
