Rudiger Krauspe

Rüdiger Krauspe (born September 20, 1953 in Lünen ) is a German orthopedic surgeon and trauma surgeon . He has been full professor and director of the Clinic and Polyclinic for Orthopedics at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf since 1999 and was President of the German Society for Orthopedics and Orthopedic Surgery (DGOOC) and Deputy President of the German Society for Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery (DGOU) in 2015 .

Life

Rüdiger Krauspe studied chemistry and human medicine at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität in Kiel from 1972 to 1980 , where he received his doctorate in 1983. From 1980 to 1987 he was an assistant doctor at the Pathological Institute of the Katharinen Hospital Stuttgart at the Surgical Clinic Feuerbach of the Bürgerhospital Stuttgart and at the Orthopedic Clinic of the Olga Hospital Stuttgart. In 1987 he was recognized as an orthopedic doctor. From 1987 he was senior physician and from 1989 head senior physician at the Orthopedic Clinic König-Ludwig-Haus at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg. After completing his habilitation in 1993, Krauspe was appointed to a C-3 professorship for neuro- orthopedics and pediatric orthopedics at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg. In 1995 he completed the additional training in special orthopedic surgery. Since 1999 Krauspe has been full professor for orthopedics and director of the clinic and polyclinic for orthopedics at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf. Krauspe has been a sports medicine specialist since 1991 and a specialist in orthopedics and trauma surgery with the additional qualification of special orthopedic surgery and pediatric orthopedics since 2007.

research

The main research areas of Rüdiger Krauspe are joint innervation, cell-based cartilage and bone defect therapy, tissue engineering, gait and movement analysis, with a focus on systemic neuromuscular malfunctions, navigation, spinal diseases and deformities as well as experimental and intravital biochemically sensitive MRI diagnostics of cartilage degeneration.

Functions / memberships

Rüdiger Krauspe is a member of the DGOOC, the DGOU, the Association for Pediatric Orthopedics (VKO), the German Association for Foot and Ankle (DAF), AOSpine Germany, the Professional Association of German Orthopedists and Trauma Surgeons (BVOU), the Association of Senior Orthopedists and Trauma Surgeons (VLOU), the Association of Southern German Orthopedists and Trauma Surgeons (VSOU), the Academy of District Doctors of the German Medical Association, the European Pediatric Orthopedic Society (EPOS), the European Foot and Ankle Society (EFAS) and the International Pediatric Orthopedic Think Tank (IPOTT).

Krauspe was secretary of the Association for Pediatric Orthopedics (VKO) from 1995 to 2000. From 2000 to 2008 he was the 1st chairman of the VKO. At the European Pediatric Orthopedic Society (EPOS) he was Treasurer from 2003 to 2007 and President from 2011 to 2012. From 2011 to 2012 Krauspe was a board member of the European Federation of National Associations of Orthopedics and Traumatology (EFORT).

Rüdiger Krauspe was a founding member and 1st chairman of AOSpine Germany from 2005 to 2009. Since 2007 he has been one of the inaugurators and course leader of the compact course in children's orthopedics of the Association for Children's Orthopedics (VKO) and a member of the faculty of the European Pediatric Orthopedic Society (EPOS) - Course on Pediatric Orthopedics and Traumatology BAT Courses.

For 2015 Krauspe was elected President of the German Society for Orthopedics and Orthopedic Surgery (DGOOC) and Vice President of the German Society for Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery (DGOU). In October 2015 he will be one of the three congress presidents of the German Congress for Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery (DKOU) in Berlin.
