Rudiger Loitz

Rüdiger Loitz (* 1967 ) is a German economist and auditor . As an honorary professor, he teaches international accounting at the University of Cologne's Faculty of Economics and is a partner for PricewaterhouseCoopers .

education

Loitz studied from 1988 to 1992 at the Economics Faculty of the University of Cologne Business Administration with a focus on accounting and minor in business computer science . He wrote his diploma thesis on the subject: Effects of bringing forward closing dates on the final examination. In 1992 he passed his exams as a business graduate. From 1993 to 1996 he did his doctorate at the University of Hamburg on the "examination of public companies". At the University of Hamburg , he completed his doctorate in 1992 with Dr. rer. pole. (Doctor of Economics and Social Sciences ).

He passed his tax advisor exam in 2000 , his auditor exam in 200] and the American auditor exam ( Certified Public Accountant ) in Boston in 2003.

Professional background

Loitz started at KPMG in Cologne in 1996 and switched to a predecessor company of PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1997 . Since 1997 he has been working in the capital market and accounting consultancy at PricewaterhouseCoopers , which he helped set up himself, and has headed this area with around 300 employees since 2015. He is also a member of the Assurance management team and is responsible for accounting advice in addition to Technology & innovations for the assurance division.

Between taking the professional examinations to become a chartered accountant , tax consultant and certified public accountant ( Boston , USA ), Loitz spent time abroad in Spain and Great Britain .

Teaching

Loitz began his teaching position at the University of Cologne with the subject "Tax Accounting" in 2009 with Norbert Herzig , whose chair was taken over by Michael Overesch. Since the winter semester 2016 he has been teaching "Fundamentals in International Accounting". Both lectures will be held in English . In spring 2018 he was appointed honorary professor by the economics faculty of the University of Cologne .

More functions

Loitz is a member of the examination committees for the auditor and tax advisor exam in North Rhine-Westphalia .

He was a member of the DRSC working group on income taxes .

Loitz publishes regularly on current topics around the application of national and international accounting as well as use cases of digitization .
