The Rüttelhorn is 1193 m above sea level. M. high mountain in the Swiss Jura . It lies on the border between the cantons of Bern and Solothurn .
The municipality of Farnern is to the south and the municipality of Herbetswil in the Thal region to the north . East of the Rüttelhorn opposite the Horngraben is the 1230 m above sea level. M. high Hällchöpfli , west of it the Alp Schmidematt .
The south face, which is up to 60 meters high in places and extends over the south and east flanks, is popular with sport climbers. It has several specially set up routes (difficulty levels IV to VIII). The north and west of the Rüttelhorn are in turn characterized by a wooded flank, over which you can reach the summit without problems (forest road or path T1).
