Răzvan Burleanu (born July 1, 1984 in Focşani ) is a Romanian football official . Since March 5, 2014 he has been President of the Romanian Football Association Federația Română de Fotbal . He has also been President of the newly founded European Minifootball Federation since March 25, 2012.

Life

He practiced soccer at the FCM Bacau's center for children and young people . Until he was 19 he attended referee school. However, he gave up competitive sports to devote himself to studying. He attended the Gheorghe Vrânceanu National College in Bacău . He studied at the National College of Political Science and Public Administration in Bucharest . He graduated from the National Defense University “Carol I” in Bucharest, specializing in courses in politics and security strategies.

After graduating, he worked in the Bacau City Hall, in the Parliament's Legal Commission and as an adviser to the President on minority matters. On December 17, 2009 he received an order of knights from the then President Traian Băsescu . In 2013 he was elected Vice President of the World Minifootball Federation. In this position Romania won four consecutive European championships. He won the second round of elections for the President of the Romanian Football Association on March 5, 2014. After the general assembly he had a majority with 113 votes (the second candidate, the former judge Vasile Avram, received 58 votes) and was elected as the new president. This made him the youngest president at the age of 29. He succeeds Mircea Sandu, who held this position for 24 years.

He is the son of former FCM Bacău and Ceahlăul Piatra Neamț player , Gheorghe Burleanu .
