R. Paul Drummond

R (obert) Paul Drummond (born January 10, 1947 in New Franklin / Missouri , † September 27, 2007 ) was an American composer and music teacher.

Drummond attended Midland High School in Texas and received a bachelor's degree from North Texas State University in 1972 . After serving in the United States Marine Corps , he studied from 1975 to 1979 at Eastern New Mexico University (Master of Music) and received his doctorate in 1986 from the University of Northern Colorado . He served as a professor of music and choir director at Central Methodist College in Fayette, Missouri. In 1994 he received the Outstanding Music Educator Award from the National Federation of High School Associations . From 1998 to 2000 he was President of the Southwest Division of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA).

Under the title A Portion for the Singers , Drummond published a collection of choral movements, arrangements and his own choral works. A textbook appeared under the title Death to the Dragon . Drummond died of cancer in 2007.
