The REGE Motor Parts Ltd. is a systems supplier in the field of mechanical machining and assembly of complex components. With around 700 employees, Rege produces at the German sites in Eisenach and Witzenhausen , as well as at the Romanian site in Brașov .

Insolvency proceedings were opened at the end of January 2017. In January 2018, the company was taken over by the US investor JD Norman .

In October 2019, JD Norman filed for bankruptcy and the company is now looking for another buyer.

Products

REGE manufactures six main product groups: cylinder heads, connecting rods, common rails, cylinder crankcases, gearboxes and pump housings. In the past two decades, REGE has produced over 200 different cylinder head types. Since 2004 the focus has been on investing in new technologies and products such as common rail.

history

REGE Motorenteile was founded in 1987 in Witzenhausen . In 1996 a cylinder head factory was taken over on the former AWE site and the current site of Opel Eisenach GmbH in Eisenach West (Griess industrial estate). In 1998 the company moved to a new building in the Kindel industrial area near Eisenach . In 1999 the company headquarters was relocated there.

In 2002, REGE was 100% taken over by INA-Holding Schaeffler KG , in 2008 Schaeffler sold all shares in its subsidiary REGE Motorenteile GmbH & Co KG to the investment company Equivest , represented by CBR Management GmbH, Munich.

With the sales company founded in Korea in October 2013, the company also expanded into Asia.

The Indian group AMTEK took over Rege in 2015.

In March 2016, plans for massive downsizing became known. The following year, preliminary insolvency proceedings were opened at the Meiningen District Court .

In January 2018, the American manufacturer JD Norman took over REGE and continued to run both locations, the number of employees was reduced to 700.

In June 2020 it became known that the insolvent JD Norman Germany will close its Thuringian plant in the Kindel industrial area at the end of September 2020.
