The RSE AG mainly deals with the purchase, management and resale of commercial properties. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Salzgitter Mannesmann GmbH, which in turn belongs to the Salzgitter Group.
history
The company was founded in 1898 as the Rinteln-Stadthagener Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft (RStE). The Grafschaft Schaumburg district , the cities of Rinteln and Obernkirchen and the West German Railway Company (WEG) were among its founders . The company built and operated the Rinteln – Stadthagen railway line .
Later, the shares of WEG were transferred via the Allgemeine Deutsche Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft to the AG for Transport , which last (1982) held over 70% of the shares, whereas today's district of Schaumburg only held 6%. The company has been listed on the stock exchange since 1948; it is admitted to the regulated market on Deutsche Börse .
In 1994 the RStE sold the railway operations to the Rinteln-Stadthagener Verkehrs-GmbH and turned to the real estate business. In 1997 the name was changed to RSE Grundbesitz und Beteiligungs-AG. Via intermediate holdings, the company acquired stakes in the Bremen Society for Urban Renewal, Urban Development and Housing mbH and GEHAG AG. From 2002 to 2004 RSE sold the majority stake in GEHAG to Hamburgische Landesbank / HSH Nordbank . In 2004 she acquired 94% of Kieler Wohnungsbaugesellschaft mbH (KWG) and 34.5% of Gladbacher Aktienbaugesellschaft . Due to a change in strategy, these investments and the one in Bremische were sold to the financial investor Blackstone Group in the same year .
From 1999 to 2001 WCM acquired 99.71% of the shares; RSE became a pure sub-holding of WCM. In 2002 and 2003, WCM transferred 26.60% of the shares to its subsidiary Klöckner-Werke . After WCM became insolvent in 2006, its insolvency administrator sold the RSE shares to Salzgitter Mannesmann GmbH in April 2007. Most of the Klöckner-Werke were also sold to the Salzgitter Group. In December 2007 the company decided to exclude minority shareholders .
Projects
The commercial properties managed by RSE include
- the Hillsite office building in Schwalbach am Taunus , which should be ready for occupancy in 2009,
- the Phönix start-up center in Berlin-Tegel , built by Herlitz Falkenhöh AG ,
- Warehouses and office buildings in Norderstedt -Garstedt as well
- - via RSE Projektentwicklungs-GmbH - logistics and storage space in Mülheim an der Ruhr on the edge of the Mannesmannröhren works .
