The Ringkampf- and sports club "Rotation" Greiz is a 1931 established Ringer club from the Vogtland Greiz .

In 2000 the RSV Rotation Greiz rose to the 1st Ringer Bundesliga and in 2002 achieved the greatest success in the club's history by reaching the playoff semi-finals for the German championship. After withdrawing into the third division for financial reasons, the club was back in the 2nd Bundesliga since autumn 2006 . In 2018, the team rose again to the 1st Wrestling League and fought there in the Southeast relay with six other clubs.

Known members

One of the most famous wrestlers from Greiz is Uwe Neupert . He was twice world champion and three times European champion and won an Olympic silver medal.

The lightweight H. Becker and the middleweight K. Hoffmann were also successful as GDR champions in the 1950s. Becker became German champions in 1953 and Hoffmann in 1953, 1954 and 1955. The gymnast Albin Lätzer won the GDR championship in floor gymnastics in 1949, 1950 and 1951.
