Jean Rabasse
Jean Rabasse (* 1961 in Tlemcen , Algeria ) is a French production and stage designer .
At the 2001 Academy Awards he was nominated together with Françoise Benoît-Fresco for the film Vatel in the category Best Production Design, but had to admit defeat to Timmy Yip , who was awarded for Tiger and Dragon . He won the French César film award twice, for Vatel and The City of Lost Children (1995).
In 2012 he was responsible for the set design for the opera L'Amour de loin in Toronto . This performance was the Canadian premiere of the opera.
Currently he works mainly for the Cirque du Soleil . He lives in Paris and Montreal .
