Rabten Choeling is a Tibetan - Buddhist monastic institute in the Mont Pelerin above Vevey on Lake Geneva in Switzerland .

history

The Center for Higher Tibetan Studies in the municipality of Chardonne in the canton of Vaud was founded in 1977 by Rinpoche Geshe Rabten (1920–1986). Since his death it has been run by Gonsar Rinpoche . The incumbent Dalai Lama visited it four times between 1979 and 1988.
