Rachel Scott

Rachel Joy Scott (born August 5, 1981 - April 20, 1999 in Littleton ) was one of the 13 deaths in the rampage at Columbine High School .

Reception of her death

Like other victims of the Littleton massacre, Rachel Scott was martyred by evangelical Christians (the evangelical expression of Christianity is widespread in Colorado ) . According to her father, Rachel Scott feared dying early. Shortly after her death, the Christian-oriented Thomas Nelson publishing house published several biographical books about Rachel Scott, written by her parents, Darrell Scott and Beth Nimmo. The sociologist Ralph W. Larkin called these works in his book Comprehending Columbine as hagiographies .

In September 2016, the film Ja, I believe (Original title: I'm Not Ashamed ) about Rachel Scott was released.
