Rachel Smith
Rachel Renee Smith (born April 18, 1985 in Panama ) is an American beauty queen .
The brunette Smith was elected Miss USA 2007 on March 23, 2007 at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles and prevailed against 50 competitors. She replaced the scandalous predecessor Tara Conner .
Rachel Smith grew up in Clarksville , Tennessee and studied at Belmont University in Nashville , where she graduated with a degree in journalism in 2006. She then did an internship in the production company of talk show host Oprah Winfrey . In addition, she volunteers in several associations in her home town of Tennessee. For a month she looked after disadvantaged black school children in South Africa.
