Radial abduction
As radial deviation a is movement of the hand or of the finger referred to, in which the hand or fingers in the direction of the spoke ( radius ), that is the thumb side to be bent (→ abduction ). The movement opposite to radial abduction is ulnar abduction .
Various muscles are involved in the radial abduction performed in the carpal joint:
- Extensor carpi radialis longus muscle
- Abductor pollicis longus muscle
- Extensor pollicis longus muscle
- Flexor pollicis longus muscle
- Flexor carpi radialis muscle
