Radikahl

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Radikahl is one of the most famous German right-wing rock bands.

Band history

The band was founded in 1988/89 under the name Giftgas in Nuremberg . A little later, in consultation with Dirk Bocksrocker, the editor of the skinhead fanzine Radi-Kahl (1989/90), it changed its name in order to “ create a unit in Nuremberg ”. Radikahl belongs together with Störkraft , Noiewerte , Kroizfoier and Freikorps to the oldest and best known German neo-Nazi bands.

In 1991 her first publication appeared as a demo tape under the title Retter Deutschlands . This also contained the swastika song , which through numerous mentions in various media reports made the band known outside the scene and is still one of the most played and popular pieces today. In the song, which musically draws on the starting motif of the well-known drinking song Drink again 'n Tröpfchen , an open commitment to Adolf Hitler and the swastika is made with simple rhymes , which surpassed everything in its radicalism and quickly earned the band cult status among the neo-Nazis . This song is missing on the debut CD of the same title, released the following year.

The singer Manfred Wiemer, better known by the nickname “Mandi”, was actively involved in establishing a neo-Nazi scene in neighboring Herzogenaurach , which at that time was an important focus of the NPD in Franconia . This was also the seat or post office box of the mail order company “Götz von Berlichingen” -Produktion (GvB) founded by Wiemer, through which the band's CDs and merchandising items are also distributed. Götz von Berlichingen was a hero of the Franconian peasant uprising in the 16th century, and the 17th SS Panzer Grenadier Division was named after him under National Socialism . After Götz von Berlichingen lost a hand in battle, he had an iron prosthesis made. This was the coat of arms of the SS division and, in a mirror image, serves as a logo for GvB productions.

In 1994 the band members were sentenced to heavy fines for sedition and use of marks of unconstitutional organization, which led to the breakup of the band. On July 6, 1994, a confiscation order of the AG Halle für Retter Germany (Az .: 33 Gs 289/94) was announced. Radikahl's new album, which had already been produced, had also been withheld for months in connection with the investigation.

In November 1999 the Blood & Honor Brandenburg section organized a concert with the bands Max Resist (USA), Might of Rage (Saxony), Stahlgewitter (Lower Saxony) and Radikahl. Property damage was subsequently caused by around 100 guests at the event.

Manfred Wiemer, who was now running the project alone, moved to Wohlsborn in Thuringia a little later . Nearby Weimar became the new headquarters of GvB-Produktion . When performing at home and abroad such as For example, at the NPD Open Air Rock for Germany on July 9th in Gera , he was supported in 2011 by members of the right-wing extremist band Volkstroi from Fürstenwalde / Spree , who in turn sell their merchandise via Wiemers mail order business.

In 2004, the Itzehoe district court found in a proceeding against a music dealer from Schleswig-Holstein that two tracks on the Wilde Horden CD constitute incitement to hatred.
