Stahlgewitter is a German right-wing rock band founded in 1995 , which is one of the most popular German-speaking groups in this genre.

History of the band

The band was founded by two of the most influential people in the right-wing rock scene, Daniel "Gigi" Giese ( Saccara ) and Frank Kraemer . While Kraemer and Giese recorded the first album Das eiserne Gebet with the help of a drum computer, various rental drums were used for further productions and live performances. The latest album was recorded with the help of Andreas Koroschetz ( Division Germania ).

Under the pseudonym Goldhagen's willing saliva lickers , whose title refers to the book Hitler's willing executors by Daniel Goldhagen , Stahlgewitter and Michael "Lunikoff" Regener , the singer of the now banned band Landser , appeared on the sampler Die Deutschen, indexed on June 9, 1999 come Vol. 1 (1998), they also played together with Hauptkampflinie and Landser on the sampler Amalek , published in 2001 and indexed on March 28, 2002 . Furthermore, Stahlgewitter is also on the sampler Die Deutschen Come Vol. 2 with the title ZOG ( Zionist Occupied Government ). In addition, the band took part in 2004 on the first school playground CD .

In 2002 the band released their album Politischer Soldat with a circulation of 8000 copies. On suspicion of incitement , the police on 16 December 2003 raided seven homes by members of the band in Meppen , Cologne , Bonn and Winterthur ( Switzerland ) and seized extensive material. The public prosecutor's office in Osnabrück has initiated an investigation based on the charge of the production of music CDs with inflammatory content. The prosecutors tried, among other things, to assign the voice of Daniel “Gigi” Giese's singing to the Zillertaler Türkenjäger project , but could not prove this allegation. The case against steel storms was dropped in 2005.

Daniel Giese is also the leading head of the bands Kahlkopf , Saccara, Gigi & die braunen Stadtmusikanten and In Tyrannos. At the end of the 90s, Kraemer and Sebastian Schauseil from the NSBM band Absurd founded the Halgadom project , which moves between Neofolk and Pagan Metal . Kraemer also writes for Runenblut magazine .

In 2013 Stahlgewitter accused the band Frei.Wild of having plagiarized : The song gives us stupidity, no level from the Frei.Wild album Gegengift should "decisive components" (here: "a guitar riff") from the theme song of the Stahlgewitter album mandate German Empire included. The Hamburg Regional Court dismissed the lawsuit on February 27, 2015.

In October 2016 Stahlgewitter played as headliner in front of over 5000 spectators in Switzerland at one of the biggest right-wing rock concerts of the last 20 years. Also in July 2017 the band performed alongside u. a. The Lunikoff conspiracy and Sleipnir at the concert Rock against foreign infiltration in Themar in Thuringia in front of around 6000 right-wing extremists.
