Hauptkampflinie (HKL) was a right-wing rock band from Kassel founded in 1996 . Until 2004 the lineup consisted of the former 08/15 guitarist Oliver Podjaski , the bassist Karsten Schröder and the drummer Timo Schubert . In 2009 the band was dissolved.

Band history

HKL has long been one of the most active bands within the German right-wing rock scene. In addition to activities of the band members in other groups and various split CDs with befriended bands or singers, they have had over 20 publications since the band was founded, not counting sampler contributions. However, some of the releases are not to be regarded as regular productions. Former labels that still own the rights to songs that were recorded during the production of an album but not later used, then released them at a later date. These are often productions that have appeared on Rock-O-Rama , Funny Sounds and Ohrwurm Records (Rockt das Reich) .

The band experienced a loss of prestige within the neo-Nazi scene in 2003 while they were under contract with the label Ohrwurm Records. Its owner, Marcel Ingignoli, was accused of having spoken in court in the trial against the band Landser about the distribution and production channels of some CDs and thus to have contributed to the conviction of the band. Despite the circulating calls for boycotts , HKL then re-recorded the album Bis zur Revolution on Ohrwurm Records and thus became the target of internal criticism. This finally led to Timo Schubert's departure and a few concert cancellations by the organizers. Later on, the relationship with Ohrwurm Records was terminated and subsequent productions were published both in-house and via V7-Versand and PC-Records .

The appearance with the greatest media coverage was the Frontline Records concert on March 16, 2002 in the Dortmund Event Hall. Together with the bands Boots of Hate (Viersen), Intimidation One (USA), Legion of Thor (Berlin), Max Resist (USA) and Oidoxie (Dortmund) played Hauptkampflin in front of over 2000 concert-goers.

The ex-member Schubert now plays with the rock band Agitator and operates a hooligan mail order company.

In 2009 Podjaski left the band and also tried to leave the neo-Nazi scene. Without his permission, the CD Still her brothers appeared in 2010 and Radikal und Schnell in 2011 . After a few attempts, including an exit declaration in the Oireszene blog , an article in the daily newspaper followed in 2012 in which he again made his exit public and declared that he had meanwhile turned to the Aussteigerhilfe Exit Deutschland . Podjaski now runs a tattoo studio in Lübeck and founded the punk rock band Feuerkind in 2011 , which broke up after the release of a demo called Terror Lübeck City .

Right-wing extremism

There are direct references to National Socialism in the lyrics of the band . An example of this is a song from the album Skating into Multikulti . What is described here is a kind of initiation rite of the SS in the Obergruppenführer hall of the Wewelsburg in Westphalia, the floor of which is provided with a large mosaic in the form of a black sun . The "ring that bears the symbol of death" means the SS ring of honor.

They dedicated the title story of a hero to neo-Nazi Kay Diesner, who was convicted of murder and double attempted murder in 1997 . As personal role models, they celebrated José Antonio Primo de Rivera , founder of the Falange Española, a movement that fought on the side of Franco in the Spanish Civil War.

In the course of its existence the band has completed numerous live performances. NPD events were just as much a part of it as concerts organized by the right-wing extremist Blood and Honor network. Connections to this now banned organization have probably existed since the band was founded. Indicators for this include: a. the band project Violent Solution with Uwe Albrecht as singer or the contacts to Widow-Bolte-Versand from Thorsten Heise .

Side projects

In addition to HKL, some band members are or were involved in other projects, all of which except for one (now dissolved) can be assigned to the right-wing extremist spectrum. These are Agitator, Violent Solution, Panzerfaust, The Betrayed, Cryptic Might, Motorgang and Iron Guard. These bands have made at least six releases so far.
