Daniel Giese (musician)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Daniel "Gigi" Giese (* 1969 or 1970 in Meppen ) is a German musician and neo-Nazi .

Career

Daniel Giese's career began with his two cousins Norbert Schaffer and Matthias Tönjes with the metal band Saccara , which was founded in 1986. After various demos , the debut album Urbi et Orbi was created in 1990 , which was released via Metal Enterprises . After the group was initially non-political in terms of content, the second work, The Last Man , published in 1994, was indexed . In 1995 two albums were released that included right-wing extremist lyrics, among other things . Then the group paused until 2001 when the album Weltvergifter was released.

In 1996 Giese founded the right-wing rock group Stahlgewitter together with Frank Krämer (later Halgadom ) , which to date has released six studio albums, most of which have been indexed. The group also took part in the first Projekt Schulhof CD 2004, which came from the community of free comradeships .

Giese sang a duet with Michael Regener (Lunikoff) under the project name Goldhagens willige Salatellecker (an allusion to Daniel Goldhagen and his book Hitler's willige Vollstrecker), which was published in 1998 on the compilation The Germans Come Vol. 1 and later on various steel thunderstorms Publications appeared.

Since 1997 Giese has also been singing with Kahlkopf . Since Ingo Nowotny of Metal Enterprises has the naming rights of the group, three albums with Giese have been released so far, which have nothing to do with the original group. Except for We still have a suitcase in Berlin , a pure Schlager album with songs from the 1930s, all releases are similar to Stahlgewitter.

With Gigi & The Brown Town Musicians brought Giese out his own project, the old hits, New German Wave -Hits and songs of political opponents in the right rock garb coverte . The project's texts contain “common right-wing extremist enemy clichés” such as “police officers, Jews , foreigners and punks ”. So far, six albums of the project have been released. The group performed at various NPD events . Even before a connection between the murders of eight small entrepreneurs of Turkish origin and one of Greek origin and the alleged terrorist organization National Socialist Underground (NSU) became known, the band had 2010 on their indexed album Adolf Hitler Lives! celebrated the series of murders and advocated further attacks.

"He has already done it nine times / The SoKo Bosporus, it sounds the alarm [...] At the kebab stand there is fear and terror / If he comes by, they must die / [...] Because he likes to visit spontaneously / At the kebab stand, because nine are not enough "

- Excerpt from Gigi & the brown town musicians - Döner-Killer from the album Adolf Hitler is alive! , 2010

2007 appeared under the title The mask falls! a Thrash Metal album from his project In Tyrannos . The concept album , which contains anti-Masonic conspiracy theories (in connection with anti-Americanism and anti-Semitism ), received positive reviews in the metal webzine Amboss-Mag . The project continued in 2017 with the album Schlimmer als die Pest .

Giese has connections to the record labels PC-Records and Metal Enterprises. In 2006 he performed with Gigi & Die Braunen Stadtmusikanten at the second Festival of the Nations , a right-wing rock festival, in Jena . Giese was in a business relationship with Nibelungen-Versand, which belonged to the German Blood & Honor network, until it was dissolved .

Criminal proceedings

The public prosecutor's office tried to assign Giese to the group of Zillertaler Türkenjäger . Voice analyzes could not substantiate this suspicion in court. The members of the band Stahlgewitter were also affected by house searches and were due sedition charged. The proceedings were closed in 2005.

In response to a complaint from the Association of Victims of the Nazi Regime - Association of Antifascists (VVN-BdA), the Osnabrück public prosecutor brought charges against Giese at the Meppen district court in February 2012 , including incitement to hatred. A spokesman for the prosecution stated that the indictment related to several songs on the album Adolf Hitler Lives , which Giese recorded with his band Gigi & Die Braunen Stadtmusikanten and whose lyrics were by Giese. Among other things, in the song Döner Killer the murders of the National Socialist Underground (NSU) would be approved. The trial took place on October 15, 2012 at the Meppen District Court. Giese was sentenced to a seven-month suspended prison sentence and a fine of 600 euros for sedition and approval of criminal offenses . He appealed the verdict . In the appeal proceedings before the Osnabrück Regional Court , the song Döner Killer was assessed as ambiguous and the court did not include it in the judgment. However, the court sentenced Giese to a fine of 1000 euros. In the song ulcer on the anus, Giese denied the Holocaust and the deportation of the Jews. Giese appealed against revision , which the Higher Regional Court of Oldenburg rejected on 27 March 2014 and therefore the judgment of the lower court confirmed .
