District court Meppen

The district court of Meppen is a court of ordinary jurisdiction and one of seven district courts in the district of the district court of Osnabrück .

The seat of the court is Meppen in Lower Saxony . The district court of Osnabrück is superordinate to the district court of Meppen . The competent higher regional court is the higher regional court in Oldenburg .

history

In 1826 the Duchy of Arenberg-Meppen was re-established as a civil status in the Kingdom of Hanover . In Meppen there was the marital ducal-Arenberg'sche Amt Meppen as administrative district and court of first instance. This was superordinated to the noble Herzoglich-Arenbergische Justiz-Kanzley zu Haselünne as a court of second instance.

After the revolution of 1848 was the Kingdom of Hanover , the jurisdiction of the administration separated and the patrimonial abolished. The district court was then founded with the ordinance of August 7, 1852 regarding the formation of the district courts and lower administrative authorities as a royal Hanover district court. It included the Meppen office and the city of Meppen. The district court was subordinate to the Upper Court of Meppen (from 1875 the Upper Court of Osnabrück ). With the annexation of Hanover by Prussia , it became a Prussian district court in the province of Hanover .
